What’s happening locally……we have been too busy to know!

That’s a terrible thing to say but…….oh my goodness we have been busy. The sheep have been lambing, cows calving, my mum has broken her hip and is staying with us to get mended, we have missed our upholstery classes for a couple of weeks, but now………the weather has settled, lambing nearly finished, and we

Lambs, lambs, lambs…….

Well last month we were waiting for the lambs, now they are here…….its been busy to say the least! We have also had to contend with the Beast from the East bringing minus temperatures here but no snow thankfully. Lambing has been tough, but most of our our sheep are canny and hide behind the

What a view.

Well for February the weather is lovely, sunshine and dryness, I am sure we will have to pay for it later in the year. Its still a little chilly but thought I would have 10 minutes out with the camera – its so photogenic here at Ross.

Our pony Beauty, has been away being broken in to ride and has recently returned back here to Ross Bay.  She is incredibly quiet and sensible, and Philippa and I are enjoying some walks around the bay, grooming, mucking out etc……… all in a day down on the farm.

Autumn is here.

Lovely skies at night, but turning colder now.  The cattle still happily grazing on the fields which are a bit on the wet side shall we say so treading the soil up a bit…………ready to come in doors soon.

Skim a stone or two…………

A stay at Ross Bay Retreat can be all you make it………as quiet as you like, a little walk here, an amble there, mud skiing here, some stone skimming there.  Watch the tide come and go, some boats go by, the cattle and sheep wander the fields, the deer pass by the window (and eat
