The Blog: What’s happening at Ross Bay?

Wild flowers……..just heading to Autumn now.

Well, our mini wild flower area around the bay has done really well this first year attracting lots of bees, butterflies and the like.  So many lovely colours swaying in the coastal breeze, waving their heads around.  Our talented guest Andrew Finnegan must be thanked for this great photograph, which he has kindly let me

Taking a pet for a walk…….

Well, just as I was getting the tea out of the oven, minding my own business there was a tap on the window……….Stephen and his animal!!  He was just taking it out for a walk on the halter and teaching it to stand correctly for the showring.  We just caught this nice photo as they

Sailing fun……out on the water……

Well……we had some fun out sailing in the bay on our Seastrike.  Calm tides, gentle waves – just how we like it. Lots to see with a different view from out on the water, cattle, sheep, coastline and grassland. Lovely picnic afterwards – just what was needed for a lovely excursion!

Sitting pretty.

Remember a stay here and sitting on the bench, looking out over Ross Bay to the beautiful Lake District. Listening to the tide ebb and flow, listening to the birds sing, watching for the deer passing by, waiting for the basking seals on the rocks, hearing the engine of the fishing boats echo before they

What a view.

Well for February the weather is lovely, sunshine and dryness, I am sure we will have to pay for it later in the year. Its still a little chilly but thought I would have 10 minutes out with the camera – its so photogenic here at Ross.
