Downstairs, there is a Charles Renee MacIntosh Kitchen with amazing pantry cupboard and wicker baskets for all your dry foods, an oak dining table with chairs leading through the archway into the sitting room with leather settees, flat screen TV with DVD player, and WIFI.
From the window seat you can gaze at the panoramic open sea views towards Meikle Ross and the Cumbrian Fells in the distance. You will find some DVDs, board games, toys, books and magazines for you to enjoy whilst relaxing and unwinding. There is a Dowling multifuel burning stove for which we will provide kindling, wood or coal for those cosy nights inside with that relaxing toasty feeling.
The Retreat Room – just as it says, retreat away in this light and airy room just off the kitchen, with small TV, double French doors and a balcony with some outdoor seating. We have two Ekornes “Stressless” recliner chairs with foot stools, and a Jazzy chair!
Inside, comfortable seating, peace and quiet to idle your time away………….. because life is better by the sea and time stands still……..
There is a bathroom with wc, sink, and shower downstairs as well as an additional bathroom upstairs with wc, bath, sink and overhead shower. A spacious hallway to house those boots, wellies, coats, equipment et cetera for exploring the great outdoors.
The kitchen is well equipped with, quality cutlery, glasses, bowls serving dishes, ample crockery along with microwave, coffee maker, and modern dishwasher, washing machine and a fridge/freezer. There is a range cooker with double fan assisted oven and six electric hobs, extractor fan, DeLongi matching kettle and four slice toaster, and coffee maker.
You can prepare a tasty dish with the smell of the sea, and sound of the waves as the tide rolls in towards Dairy House. Imagine the French doors open, sea air blowing as you enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony (whilst watching the children play on the beach).
There is also a delightful, private, enclosed garden to the rear with patio area, BBQ and seating.
For alfresco dining (balcony, beach or rear patio) there is a selection of unbreakable plates, glasses et cetera.
For the kitchen we provide a “just in case you forget” box including dishwasher tablets, washing machine sachets, dishcloths, washing up liquid, tea towels, some tea, coffee, sugar, kitchen roll, cling film, kitchen foil, and we are happy to receive an Asda/Tesco delivery for you prior to your arrival.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom boasting a king size bed with views straight out across Ross Bay, a single bedroom with one single bed again benefitting from spectacular sea views. The third bedroom has a zip and link bed which can be made into either a superking size double bed or two single beds depending upon your requirements for your stay.

Soft bedlinen, all season tog duvets available to suit your comforts and requirements, with additional blankets, and luxurious mattress toppers.
The bathroom upstairs comprises of a toilet, wash hand basin, electric shaving point, a bath where you can relax a while, and an overhead invigorating shower. Our biomass central heating system is sure to have the bathroom warm enticing you to rejuvenate those acing muscles. We provide a “just in case you forget” box with some hand wash, shower gel, bath soak, shampoo, conditioner, and toilet roll. Bath and hand towels are provided along with a bath mat.

On arrival you will be greeted by either a homemade chocolate fudge cake, Victoria sponge cake with fresh cream and strawberries, banana loaf, lemon drizzle cake or moist fruit cake, and a warm kettle to kick start your relaxing break. From Dairy House you can gaze out at the sea by day and the stars by night, contemplating what to explore first, the rockpools across the lane, beachcombing, the woodlands on the hill, wildlife, sea fishing (bring your own tackle and boat!) or the best loved local towns.

Please note that our prices vary according to occupancy. The basic price is for 4 guests, low occupancy for couples deduct 5%, a single person deduct 7.5%, and for 5 persons add £20 to the basic price. We try to be fair to all our guests wishing to stay at Ross Bay.
There is ample parking next to Dairy House for 2 cars along with an enclosed garden to the rear, housing a small wooden lockable shed.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, (usually maximum of 2 but please contact us) along with their own bedding, leads and towels for drying dirty sandy/muddy paws after having fun!

From the A75 go into Kirkcudbright on the A711. In Kirkcudbright turn right onto Bridge Street (opposite the Church) and towards the A755, crossing over the estuary. In half a mile or so there is a sign for the B727 to Borgue turn left here and follow the coastal road for approximately 3.5 miles.
There is a sign for Ross Bay and Brighouse Bay (turn left) and in approximately 1⁄2 mile the road forks and Ross Bay is signposted to the left. Follow the lane (approx. 1 1⁄4 miles) and when you reach the sea you know you have arrived. Dairy House is stone built with the retreat room painted Honeysuckle cream, it is on your right just past Creel Cottage (painted dollshouse pastel blue).
