Autumn is approaching…….

Well down here at Ross, someone has switched the button to say the Summer sunshine and heat is off and the winds of Autumn are here…….its not cold though I have to say.  We have been sorting cattle here on the farm, the pedigree limousins should be in calf due to calve in Springtime.  We

Silage time……….

It soon comes around, grass grown and ready to be cut and collected, then put into the silage pit, covered over and getting ready for Winter feed for the cattle, a bit like soaking the fruit to get the Christmas cake ready!!  Some of the grass we have left to wilt a little longer and

Four leaf clover – good luck everyone…..

Whilst out walking the dogs, David was inspecting the meadows for the newly drilled seeds, and look what he found, yes a four leaf clover.  The animals really enjoy eating the clover whether it be in the fields, or whether it has been cut and made into Winter feed. We have opened a new holiday

The ewes will be pleased to enjoy some time off grazing on the luscious

Who surprised who?

Just tootling along minding our own business, looking to see if the grass was ready to cut for silage, and I think we made the deer jump!  There are several deer to be seen down here at Ross Bay in the different patches of woodland around the farm, living and hiding behind the gorse.  There
