Happy New Year…

Happy January everyone, with Christmas over and the New Year celebrations through we are looking forward to a happy 2019.  We are looking forward to welcoming back some of our guests, and new visitors alike to enjoy some time away from it all.  We are also preparing for lambing time (end Feb) and calving time

Sailing fun……out on the water……

Well……we had some fun out sailing in the bay on our Seastrike.  Calm tides, gentle waves – just how we like it. Lots to see with a different view from out on the water, cattle, sheep, coastline and grassland. Lovely picnic afterwards – just what was needed for a lovely excursion!

Wow……..look at that moon!

Look at that moon……it was amazing to watch the moon coming up behind the hill of Miekle Ross and it happened so fast.  Lovely evenings here in the summer, watching the tide ebb and flow with the birds singing, a little piece of paradise (but we may be bias!)

Roxey our little cocker spaniel enjoying the view.

A lovely walk over the hill and down to the sea is sometimes all you need for a recharge – Roxey enjoyed stopping to take in the view, unless it was a deer she had spotted!

Haymaking at Ross Farm.

Haymaking time has been completed for the 2017 winter feed.  First cut silage is done and in the clamp, and we are awaiting the regrowth of our luscious green coastal grass for our second cut silage to make sure we have enough winter fodder for all the farm animals down here on Ross Farm.

The view from the office in June!

Well I have to say this is one of our favourite views, looking down the lighthouse field, or so we call it, and overlooking Ross island.  It is a little haven of contentment, peace and quiet.  You really could be anywhere when you just look out to sea.  A picnic overlooking the island is a
