Sailing fun……out on the water……

Well……we had some fun out sailing in the bay on our Seastrike.  Calm tides, gentle waves – just how we like it. Lots to see with a different view from out on the water, cattle, sheep, coastline and grassland. Lovely picnic afterwards – just what was needed for a lovely excursion!

Muck spreading.

Dry ground equals muck spearing on the farmland! Our bedding from winter is all loaded into the rota spreader and spread across the fields to make the grass grow. Cattle.

All times are busy here at Ross farm.  The cattle need moving around the farm to new fresh fields, and the bulls need to change the groups they run with too.  Some cows need to be moved to the maternity wing for closer observation………its all go go go!

Calves huddled together.

If in doubt, gather together and have a huddle!  Our spring born calves are enjoying time sunning themselves upon the big hill next to the sea with the sea air blowing through their lungs.  If you are out and about walking you may see them on your travels, although they have such a large area

Haymaking at Ross Farm.

Haymaking time has been completed for the 2017 winter feed.  First cut silage is done and in the clamp, and we are awaiting the regrowth of our luscious green coastal grass for our second cut silage to make sure we have enough winter fodder for all the farm animals down here on Ross Farm.
