Well down here at Ross bay, our geese have hatched themselves some lovely goslings. They are extremely proud and guard them well in the paddock with our old pony Smokey. We are sure you will spot them during your Springtime stay here.

Our little cocker spaniel Roxey enjoying a little Sunday sunshine overlooking Ross Island.
Our duckpond has refilled with the glorious rain and our new fence has smartened things up a little!
Some of the beautiful fishing boats just sitting together in the Kirkcudbright Harbour waiting to set sail.
One of our cows has had a lovely pair of calves – looks like she will have a lot of work to do keeping them out of mischief!
Spring lambs and spring flowers at Ross Bay Retreat, why not pay us a visit and enjoy them all at once. Skipping lambs, swaying daffodils, calving time has started, lets put Winter behind us and spring towards Summer!
Our resident shepherdess Philippa is helping out move this lovely set of twin lambs to a field of fresh grass. Their proud mother will give more milk and the lambs can skip around and shelter under the gorse, behind walls or under the trees when the sunshine hides (as it does at lambing time!!)
Can you imagine waking up to this glorious sunrise on a February morning? This is at Ross Bay and our holiday guests could enjoy the full view, and watch it rise high in the sky…………..ahh a way to relax in a morning on holiday whilst the breakfast is being prepared.
The beautiful Isle Of Man, just sat there in the sea. It looks so close sometimes and as clear as a bell yet other times hidden from our view by the weather. What a beautiful place we live when we can see so much and so far without leaving the farm. It is no wonder
There is nothing which seems to attract sightseeing quite like a rough high tide, the white sea froth, the waves crashing on the rocks, boats bobbling up and down in Kirkcudbright harbour. Don’t we all like to catch a crashing wave hitting the rocks if we can?
Overdale Cottage is a cosy pet friendly cottage in the charming village of Harome, 3 miles from the Helmsley on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
