We started lambing in February down here at Ross Bay. It has been a cold and wet time but spring is now here!
We are still busy at work on The Old Cheeseloft, but we are planning to open on the 15th July 2016! We now have live availability to take bookings from then onwards. Let’s hope we have some happy holidays ahead.
Our lucky facebook competition winner was Sheila Middleton. We look forward to welcoming Sheila and her family down here in October to stay in The Old Cheeseloft.
We are currently renovating the old cheeseloft down here at Ross into our third and final holiday cottage. Works are going well and decisions being made about kitchens, bathrooms and furniture although we are a little way off that at the moment – but you need to plan well in advance! We will be drawing
Albeit wet, cold and miserable, Philippa and I set off to be there for the Christmas light switch on and to see Santa in town. After some carol singing, in the rain the lights were on and if you drive through Kirkcudbright after dark I am sure you will agree they look splendid.
No matter whatever the weather here at Ross there are always animals to feed and look after. A lovely frosty morning whilst out walking the dogs around the bay, I caught a snap of David on the tractor with the feeder waggon trundling along.
Our newest arrival to the herd is this lovely Simmental cross heifer calf.
Besides the deer out on the fields, we have our very own, handmade deer by young Stephen – aren’t they great. Red nose pom pom by Philippa – a real family homemade effort. May 2016 be happy, healthy and wonderful for everybody. We now have our 2017 availability on the website so have a peek
All set in Creel Cottage for a magical Christmas for our guests, baubles, tree glistening, tinsel hanging……..toasty and warm with that great sea view. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
Dairy House is all set for a cheery Christmas, with fairy lights, tinsel and baubles. Christmas cake on the side, ice cream in the freezers, and a few presents under the tree for our guests! Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year to one and all.
