Wow, what a night out in Glasgow last week and such fun too!
We were delighted and pleasantly shocked to be nominated as Best Self Catering Accommodation Finalist for the West Region of Scotland but absolutely stunned to be announced as Scottish Thistle Awards winners in our regional category. The superb Gala Awards Dinner evening were held in Glasgow last week.
We are proud to join many more winners and worthy finalists in celebrating excellence in the Scotland Tourism sector.
‘Best Self Catering Accommodation’ for the West Region
This now means that not only are we winners of the ‘Best Self Catering Accommodation’ for the West Region but we will now go forward to the Scottish Thistle Awards national finals which will be held in March next year. We are very much looking forward to this but we will not be resting on our laurels as we continue to make even more positive changes for our guests’ enjoyment and comfort here at Ross Bay.

Green Tourism & Sustainable Farming
We only moved here to Ross Bay in February 2014 and it has been an incredible journey and experience to date. In this time we have developed our working farm and our self-catering cottage business in this beautiful area of South West Scotland. We added our latest two bedroom cottage ‘Byre by the Sea’ to our other three more established pet friendly cottages earlier this year. All of our cottages are now heated by our Biomass heating system running on renewable energy products as we maintain our commitment and improving our Green Tourism and strive to enable more sustainable farming.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our lovely guests, staff, suppliers and colleagues for their support and contribution to helping us achieve this wonderful award. We look forward to continuing to welcoming our guests over the Christmas period and into the New Year.
